Life can be busy and finding time to go and speak to someone about your health can be tricky. It is not always easy to find the most up to date and sound advice about health and wellbeing with so many websites and so many different people offering you advice. So we have introduced a text service for young people.
School nurses are trained nurses and we work with young people. We can offer up to date advice, and help you find support for a wide range of health issues. We can support you with issues such as your physical health, emotional health, medical problems and lots more. You can contact us by text and if you would like to we can arrange to come a see you in school or a health centre or youth club.
You can text anytime of the day or night and a School Nurse will reply to you in between the hours of 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday. Our ChatHealth number is 07480 635363.
*Safety notice: “We might inform someone if we were concerned about your safety but we would usually speak to you first. Your messages are stored and can be seen by other health care staff who follow the same confidentiality rules, We aim to reply to you within one working day and you should get an immediate message back to confirm we have received your text. Text will only be seen between 9am and 5pm. If you need help before you hear back from us contact your GP, nearest walk in centre or dial 111. Our text number does not receive voice calls or MMS picture messages. We support messaging from UK mobile numbers only (which does not include messages sent from landlines, international mobile numbers and some ‘number masking’ mobile apps). To prevent the health professional from sending messages to you, text STOP to our number. Messages are charged at your usual rates.”
