Anxiety

Anxiety is a feeling of worry, nervousness, panic, or fear.  Everyone experiences anxiety at some point in their life, this may be due to taking an exam, job interview or money worries.  Some people find it hard to cope with feelings of anxiety and it begins to impact on daily life.

Some of the common signs of anxiety include:

  • Feeling depressed
  • Feeling panicky
  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Reduced appetite
  • Palpitation and dry mouth
  • Feeling faint
  • Stomach cramps and or/diarrhoea

If you are experiencing feelings of anxiety it may help to:

  • Talk to someone you trust
  • Get a good night’s rest
  • Eat a healthy diet as this impacts on mood and energy levels
  • Increase physical activity as this helps manage stress levels and releases tension
  • Don’t forget to breathe deeply and slowly!
