Livewell Southwest have put together a really handy guide that’ll help to point you in the right direction towards a healthier, less stressful and more rewarding lifestyle. It tells you where you can get help and information and gives you clear and sensible ideas on what to do if you feel you need that extra bit of help.
As a young person it’s important to start following a healthy lifestyle now in order to avoid any problems when you’re older.
Healthy habits are easier to get used to as a young person, and they can improve the rest of your life. You’ll also look and feel better, right now!
This guide also contains useful websites, advice and information about various issues. Take a look and read the sections which are of interest to you.
Now you’re becoming more responsible for your own health and wellbeing there’s lots of things you can do at home to help. Many minor illnesses and injuries can be treated at home using over the counter medicines from your local pharmacist and getting plenty of rest. If you’re still worried you call NHS 111.
If you think you need help urgently during the day or night you should call NHS 111. NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and is free to call, including from your mobile. You’ll be directed straight away to the local service that can help you best.
Remember that teachers and tutors can be great people to talk to. If they can’t help they’ll be able to point you in the right direction.
We’ve also developed a useful website for young people, with a range of helpful topics including a guide to services, useful contacts, common illnesses and conditions, more serious conditions and wellbeing. Click here to view.
