Offering a confidential continence service for people aged over 18 who have complex bladder and bowel problems.
The Specialist Continence Advisory Service offer a confidential continence service for people aged over 18 who have complex bladder and bowel problems. Their specialist nurse-led clinics are held in a variety of community settings.
They provide high quality assessments to identify the cause of a problem and offer treatment to help people to self manage their condition. Where they find that individuals have more complex needs, they facilitate further referrals and signposting for assessment and treatment.
They have produced a comprehensive range of leaflets to support continence treatment programmes. These are designed to reinforce information and guidance given by health professionals to patients and/or carers to empower and promote self care.
