Providing support to young people experiencing victimisation in Nottinghamshire.
Got Your Back is Nottinghamshire Victim Care’s youth service which supports victims of crime aged 17 and under.
Their vision is to ensure any child or young person experiencing victimisation in Nottinghamshire has access to support, tailored to their needs, when they need it.
Their support is free, confidential and tailor-made to each individual. They provide emotional and practical support whether the crime has been reported to the police or not. This support can be delivered face-to-face or via remote methods depending on what the young person prefers.
Their caseworkers have a variety of tools to help the young person to cope and recover:
They work WITH young people to help them work out what they might need to move forward and often they work to support the wider family members too.
If they feel they can’t provide the support needed, they will always signpost to a service that can.
They also work in schools/colleges via drop-in sessions and workshops to highlight victimisation and the consequences of crime.
