Manchester and Trafford: The Proud Trust
Our LGBT youth offer includes groups for lesbian and bisexual young women, trans groups, a BAME group which run alongside our LGBT youth groups. We also run a 121 and Mentoring Service for young people to access support remotely. Our groups are open to young people ages between 13 and 19 (up to 25 with additional needs).
Trafford: ChatHealth for Teens
Chat Health service open to 11-16 year olds. This is a confidential text messaging service and a platform for young people to message school nurses for advice and support. It is open year-round, Monday to Friday, 8:30 – 4:30pm. If young people make contact out of hours, the service aims to respond the following day.
Manchester and Trafford: Kooth
Free online support and advice for young people aged 10-25 years, accessible 24/7, 365 days a year. Young people can track their mood with a goals tracker and note their thoughts in an online journal. Kooth also provides peer support via fully moderated forums and the opportunity to contribute to self-help articles/content.
Trafford CAMHS
CAMHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) provides specialist emotional and mental health assessment and treatment to children and young people aged 0-18 years and their families and carers. The specialist team offer support for young people experiencing problems with their emotions, behaviour or mental health.
Trafford Talkshop
Talkshop is an advice, support and information centre for young people aged 11 to 19 (up to 25 with additional needs or care leavers). The Talkshop offer a confidential service. This enables us to offer a safe and non-judgemental environment for young people to seek the help they need.

Manchester Healthy Schools have been working in partnership with Manchester schools for over 20 years – tackling health inequalities and improving the health and wellbeing of children and young people. The team are part of the School Health Service and work in partnership with the School Nursing Service to support a whole school approach to health and wellbeing. There are 7 thematic areas within the Healthy Schools team which are: Healthy Lifestyles, Social and Emotional Health, Mental Health and Wellbeing, Relationships and Sex Education, Drugs and Alcohol Education, Unintentional Injury Prevention and Personal Social and Health Education (PSHE).

Supporting better mental health for everyone. We work with young people, either through schools and colleges or through our community project, Children and Young People (CYP), to educate about mental health and to help young people when they are struggling.

If you are aged 13 to 25, living in Manchester, Salford, Trafford or Tameside/Glossop and under stress, or know someone who is, we might be the service for you.
At 42nd Street we believe that a range of different approaches can be effective in responding to young people’s mental health needs and this is reflected in the variety of services we offer. As well as therapy, counselling and individual support, we offer a wide range of youth work interventions including groups and arts-based projects. All our services to young people are free and confidential.
The 42nd Street team recognises that many of you feel disempowered, that some services are difficult for you to identify with and access and that your mental health and personal difficulties can be made worse by the health, social, cultural and economic inequalities that you might experience. We will do all we can to make you feel listened to, valued, included, safe and unique.

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) provide a range of specialist mental health and assessment services for children and young people in a range of community bases across Manchester up to 18 yrs.

The Northern Trafford Talkshop - Young People's clinic
The Talkshop Young People’s Clinic provides a one stop shop for young people aged 19 and under, providing free and confidential contraceptive and sexual health services. We work with the Talkshop youth workers to provide a young person friendly service, and you can talk to us about any problems or issues you might have. We offer the following services free of charge:
- Contraceptive advice and supplies
- Contraceptive implants and injections
- Emergency contraception
- Free condoms
- Pregnancy testing
- Termination of pregnancy information
