Self-care during exam season
Hello all,
Today we are going to be discussing exam stress and the importance of self-care.
As students, we understand that as you progress in secondary school, exams become more frequent and a lot harder which can lead to unwanted stress surrounding exams. This stress can impact our physical as well as our mental wellbeing in a negative way. For example, we might be inclined to socialise less, or we might sleep less.
Therefore, it is crucial to implement self-care and rest to look after yourself and be healthy which is something we all practice daily!
What is self-care?
Self-care can be defined as the practice of looking after oneself and prioritising your physical as well as mental wellbeing which can be done in numerous ways from making sure to practicing healthy eating to spending time doing a hobby you enjoy. Whilst most people normally associate the term ‘self-care’ with pampering and self-indulgence, there are also several other ways to practice self-care so you can care for your wellbeing.
Ways to incorporate self-care into your daily routine
Simple ways you might include self-care into you daily routine is by:
✓ Maintaining a good sleep routine
✓ Meditating
✓ Doing a hobby that you enjoy
✓ Taking a break from revision for some time
✓ Exercising e.g. taking a brisk walk
We hope that you can start to incorporate self-care into your daily routine, and that you understand how important it is to practice self–care to look after your health and wellbeing especially during exam season!!
Thank you and see you next time!
