This is a self-guided learning tool, designed for parents of children aged 2-17 years who:
- Have noticed differences in their child and they’re exploring neurodivergence
- Have Googled, ‘Is my child autistic?, or what is ADHD?
- Have an autistic child(ren)
- Are awaiting a Neurodevelopmental assessment

Bucks Mind - Young People
Bucks Mind has launched a new FREE Counselling Service specifically for young people aged 13 to 21 who live in Buckinghamshire.
The service offers compassionate and confidential support to young people facing emotional and mental health challenges. Our professional counsellors provide a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space to explore feelings, build coping strategies and foster personal growth.
Young people can choose between face-to-face and online (using a secure link) counselling appointments.

KOOTH
The Kooth team are here to provide free, safe and anonymous online support and counselling. The whole team are made up of friendly and experienced individuals who want to help you.
Kooth is a free, safe and anonymous online wellbeing service for children and young people. Young people using the site are able to access a range of support services including one-to-one counselling sessions, discussing issues with their peers through online
discussion boards, reading and contributing to self-help content and recording their feelings via journals and goal trackers. The online nature of Kooth means that young people can access help in a way that is most suitable for them, at a time that is convenient for them, 365 days of the year.
Opening Times
When can children and young people talk to someone? The Kooth team are available to chat 7 days a week, 365* days of the year. Kooth users can access the magazine, discussion boards and any other online content whenever they like, from wherever they are. Our friendly online team are available to chat during the following times:
From 12 noon until 10pm weekdays.
From 6pm until 10pm weekends.
How long a child or young person will have to wait in the chat queue depends on how busy the site is so we kindly ask for service users to be patient with us! Children and young people can send a message to the team at any time and it will be responded to during service working hours. Our counsellors are employed by us and are fully qualified with the BACP or equivalent.
*We offer a reduced service on bank holidays.
Youth Concern - Aylesbury
We’re here for you!
Youth Concern is an independent youth charity that supports young people, aged 13-25 in Aylesbury Vale. We will treat you with compassion and respect. We will listen without judgment. We will work with you for you and we won’t give up on you. If you’re feeling a little lost and in need of support, give us a call or pop into the Uptown Coffee Bar and have a chat with one of our team. Youth Enquiry Service (YES) is a charity based in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, that offers free and confidential support and counselling to 13-25 year olds. YES is staffed four days a week and four evenings a week. We support thousands of young people every year.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide support which is consistently delivered as non-judgemental, supportive, inclusive and empowering.
Our Work
We work with young people experiencing a wide variety of social welfare issues; these include housing, debt, sexual health, education and employment. These can lead to a range of adverse consequences for young people, most commonly, stress; anxiety, depression, ill health, relationship breakdowns, lost income and lost confidence.
YES also runs a busy sexual health service. We offer a chance to talk about relationships, peer pressure and healthy, positive relationships. We can provide free condoms through the C-card scheme, pregnancy and chlamydia testing.

A team of skilled therapists with a variety of experiences, so they can provide the right person to work with those in need.
Action4Youth
Provides various programmes to support children and young person, regardless of background or ability, to ensure that they have the chance to enter adulthood as positive, confident members of the community. Projects include Inspiration Programme, National Citizens Service, DOE, Breakout Programme.
Mental Health Support Team
The Bucks Mental Health Support Team (MHST) supports young people who have emotional wellbeing difficulties, including anxiety and low mood, confidence and self esteem issues. We provide evidence based therapeutic support both individually and in groups to young people and parents.
This service is hosted within schools in Buckinghamshire.
CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service)
CAMHS help children and young people up to 18 who are finding it hard to cope with everyday life because of difficult feelings, behaviour or relationships

The service offers compassionate and confidential support to young people facing emotional and mental health challenges. Our professional counsellors provide a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space to explore feelings, build coping strategies and foster personal growth.
Young people can choose between face-to-face and online (using a secure link) counselling appointments.

The Kooth team are here to provide free, safe and anonymous online support and counselling. The whole team are made up of friendly and experienced individuals who want to help you.
Kooth is a free, safe and anonymous online wellbeing service for children and young people. Young people using the site are able to access a range of support services including one-to-one counselling sessions, discussing issues with their peers through online
discussion boards, reading and contributing to self-help content and recording their feelings via journals and goal trackers. The online nature of Kooth means that young people can access help in a way that is most suitable for them, at a time that is convenient for them, 365 days of the year.
Opening Times
When can children and young people talk to someone? The Kooth team are available to chat 7 days a week, 365* days of the year. Kooth users can access the magazine, discussion boards and any other online content whenever they like, from wherever they are. Our friendly online team are available to chat during the following times:
From 12 noon until 10pm weekdays.
From 6pm until 10pm weekends.
How long a child or young person will have to wait in the chat queue depends on how busy the site is so we kindly ask for service users to be patient with us! Children and young people can send a message to the team at any time and it will be responded to during service working hours. Our counsellors are employed by us and are fully qualified with the BACP or equivalent.
*We offer a reduced service on bank holidays.

One Recovery Bucks - Specialist Family and Carers Service
One Recovery Bucks offers a range of support for people who are affected by someone else’s substance misuse. You can get the right help for you and your family. The service offers face-to-face, telephone and email information advice and support, support groups for carers and family members, Information and advice specific to drugs and alcohol addiction, enable families and carers to form and access community networks, signposting carers to services for a specialist carers assessment where appropriate
The Toolshed (Age 16-24)
The Toolshed is an alternative education Centre operating as a stand alone, self-sufficient, not-for-profit business, helping young people start a career in construction.
Wycombe Wanderers SET for Safety - Play Into Space (Under 18)
A youth club delivered to divert young people away from involvement in crime and/or antisocial behaviour or the risk of being exploited, as well as to provide them with personal development opportunities. Provision of a safe and secure space for young people. Participants to take part in a variety of sports sessions and participate in workshops on a range of different issues including knife crime, gangs, anti-bullying, positive relationships & safe sex, employability skills, first aid, cooking and volunteering.
The Junction
Action4Youth’s youth club at High Wycombe Library. Offers weekly activities (boxing, yoga, HIIT, nutrition advice), a space for socialising and leisure activities (pool tables, PlayStation, hang out spots), Crisis support clinics – providing advice, help and support.
Premier League Kicks (Age 8-18)
Encourages sports participation in youngsters from some of the most high-need areas within local communities. Gets young people involved in constructive activities, such as a wide variety of sports, coaching projects, music, education and personal development. Since it’s conception Premier League Kicks has seen communities across the country transformed with greater football and sports participation rates and authorities reporting significant reductions in anti-social behaviour in the same area.
One-Eighty (Age 4-18)
An organisation which seeks to re-integrate vulnerable young people back into education or back onto a positive journey with learning, through working on patterns of thinking, behaviours and emotions that hinder learning.
New Leaf Mentoring Scheme
Offer face-to-face mentoring programme which aims to support to young people that are at risk of exclusion and/or are currently within the criminal justice system.
Misbourne Area Youth (11-18)
Interesting, exciting and challenging activities that enhance young people’s individual growth. Access to information, sound advice or counselling on a range of personal matters including health issues, drug & alcohol abuse, sexual relationships, work, housing etc.
Inspiration Project (Under 18)
Designed to broaden the horizons, thinking and experience of young people, to make them aware of how our society works and help them understand what their place in it is and can be. The one-year Inspiration Programme provides direct experiences and real interactions with motivational individuals and organisations.
Attain - for young people leaving care
Supports young people leaving care and need support to move on towards independence (including employment, next steps education and life skills) aiming to help make good choices about work and education, relationships and community, and to give them a better chance to succeed in life.
ASPIRE project
The Aspire Project currently works across Hertfordshire and North London to provide support for young people who have offended or are at risk of offending or criminal exploitation. Referrals submitted by LA, schools, colleges, YOS, attendance centres & other partners.
Action4Youth
Provides various programmes to support children and young person, regardless of background or ability, to ensure that they have the chance to enter adulthood as positive, confident members of the community. Projects include Inspiration Programme, National Citizens Service, DOE, Breakout Programme.
Family Nurse Partnership - FNP
Becoming a parent for the first time is exciting and can also be scary for different reasons.
If you’re under 21 years old and expecting your first baby, you can get support from our Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) team.
You’ll get the same services after the birth as the health visiting team. But you’ll also get support throughout your pregnancy from your own family nurse.
Who is the service for?
It’s for anyone who is a first time parent aged under 20 who is less than 28 weeks pregnant. You must live in Buckinghamshire.
What does a family nurse do?
They’ll visit you regularly during your pregnancy, either at home, or where you feel comfortable. The family nurse will help you prepare you for the birth and meeting your baby, and will continue to visit until your baby is 2 years old.
They’ll personalise a programme for you which could include:
- feeding your baby
- finding out about your baby’s development
- education and training
- housing, money and relationships
- childcare options if you choose to go back to work.
